The company’s second location will move into a new apartment and retail development called The Reef, which opened a year ago, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record. The new 4,100-square-foot restaurant is expected to open in Fall 2023. Customers can expect an outdoor dining area, expanded indoor seating, a full bar, and locally brewed craft beers. Unlike the original location, which moved from Downtown to 100 E. Forsyth Street in 2020, the new site will serve wine and spirits.

“Having a well-known establishment such as Spliff’s Gastropub at The Reef will bring a synergy to the revitalized area of the northern end of the Beaches/Mayport Road,” Jason Hinson, senior associate at Collier’s, said in a news release.

While the new Spliff’s Gastropub will have a few more alcoholic options than the original, customers can still expect the same delicious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some items on the menu include sandwiches, hamburgers, mac and cheese pastry pockets, and rice bowls. The new restaurant will be perfect for the development, which includes 456 luxury apartments and 30,000 square feet of retail space. The Reef is owned and operated by KABR Group and The Klotz Group of Companies.

“Spliff’s Gastropub is exactly the type of local tenant we sought to attract when we began renovating the retail sites more than a year ago,” Jude Mason, managing director at KABR Group, tells JDR.
