The fast-casual restaurant was created by third-generation hospitality professionals, local brothers and business partners Nick and Zachary Presti, in partnership with Canopy Road Café CEO and Co-Founder Brad Buckenheimer. Specializing in breakfast sandwiches, EggBoy’s menu consists of high-quality, made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch fare, in addition to specialty coffees, teas, sides and pastries. Fresh bread is sourced locally in Jacksonville, along with more in partnership with Canopy Road Café.

Highlights include an array of breakfast sandwiches such as the S.E.C., a breakfast sandwich made with house-made maple pepper sausage, soft scrambled eggs American cheese, and honey dijonnaise on a buttery toasted brioche bun. EggBoy will also feature lunch items like the Fried Chicken B.L.T., a hand-breaded chicken breast topped with Swiss cheese, applewood smoked bacon, bibb lettuce, sliced tomato, avocado smash and buttermilk ranch dressing on a buttery toasted brioche bun. Most menu items range from $8 and $13.

Located 1241 Mayport Road in Atlantic Beach, the 1,200 square-foot space, described similarly to a New York City bodega, includes limited indoor and outdoor seating, in addition to industrial-themed decor with EggBoy-branded wallpaper, digital menu boards and more. Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, open seven days a week.

The Presti brothers come from a family familiar in the hospitality business, learning from their grandfather, who was a Walt Disney World Corporation executive for over 15 years handling food and beverage operations for all parks and resorts, as well as their mother who also worked for Disney for more than 18 years. This, in combination with their individual experiences, led to the two opening the first Jacksonville Canopy Road Café at the Shoppes of Bayard (located at 12525 Philips Highway) in 2019, which served as the restaurant’s first expansion out of Tallahassee since the concept debuted in 2007. Fast forward to today, Nick and Zachary continue to keep their entrepreneurial spirit and oversee and operate two locations in Jacksonville, with more growth expected in the future including a new Canopy Road Café in Mandarin slated for a summer 2024 opening.

“Our vision for EggBoy is to bring something new and unique to Jacksonville that can be replicated and set up for growth in the future,” said Nick and Zachary Presti, Co-Owner’s of EggBoy in a statement. “Through our experience in operating Canopy Road Café, we saw that breakfast sandwiches ranked as one of the most ordered menu items, and realized the potential in what we could bring to the market. EggBoy will serve as a locally-owned, set destination for elevated breakfast sandwiches and more to those in the community, where they can always count on delicious food, affordable prices and fast, courteous service. We cannot wait for everyone to have a chance to experience what EggBoy has to offer, and look forward to what’s all to come.”

“I have known Nick and Zach now for many years and the two of them are like family to us. Through our work together as franchise partners in Canopy Road Café, I’ve had the opportunity to watch them grow and flourish on a professional level and can personally attest to their dedication to Jacksonville and their communities. They’ve undoubtedly poured their heart and soul into not only the success of Canopy Road Café, but also in assisting with the innovation, development and creation of EggBoy,” said Brad Buckenheimer, Canopy Road Café CEO and Co-Founder. “I’m more than proud to be partnering with these two on this new concept, and look forward to working with them in continuing to bring unmatched service and food to Jacksonville.”
