Jessica and Ron Gosselin of New Berlin JASZ LLC will own and operate this 1,620-square-foot location, which will feature a double drive-thru and a walk-up window, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. This $2.1 million project will sit between Tractor Supply Co. and Waffle House on northeast New Kings Road and Interstate 295. While there is no exact timeline for this opening, as the city is reviewing plans for the proposed site, this will be the 13th Zaxby’s in the Jacksonville area for New Berlin JASZ Inc.

Zaxby’s introduced this new to-go-only restaurant design early last year by remodeling one of its restaurants in Clemson, South Carolina, as a to-go-only location with drive-thru and takeout only. The company opened its first franchise-owned, to-go-only restaurant in Hoover, Alabama, last June, followed by newly designed sites in East Memphis and Griffin, GA. Zaxby’s is leaning on this design, especially in an area like Northeast Florida, where other brands, such as Chick-fil-A, Dunkin’, and Starbucks, are introducing drive-thru-only concepts. Gosselin, an experienced franchise owner with several area locations, believes now is the time to invest in Zaxby’s.

“With this incentive deal, we’ve signed on to open four more restaurants,” Gosselin said late last year in a press release. “It’s helping us get into markets where real estate is usually outpriced for our model. However, the reduced royalty fees are allowing me to get in on new developments early and offset some higher construction costs. If you plan on growing, now is the time. I love it!”
