On the heels of announcing a new location for Checkers coming to Jacksonville, Krupal Patel and Bhavin Patel are preparing to open more locations for Tikka Bowls and Tacos. Krupal Patel tells What Now Jacksonville that they intend to open two, possibly three locations in the area, as the duo are currently negotiating a lease agreement for a third site. The first two locations are set to open in Downtown Jacksonville and on San Jose Boulevard.
Tikka Bowls and Tacos, founded by Krupal Patel and Bhavin Patel in 2022, recently launched a franchise program and opened a franchised location in Arlington, TX, earlier this year. Another is on the way in Fort Worth, TX. The company is also working on new locations in Central Florida. Once all is said and done, the company hopes to have ten locations open by the end of the year. There are only three sites in St. Johns, Jacksonville, and Arlington. Krupal and his brother
When these locations open, customers can expect a fusion of Indian and Mexican cuisine. The concept is similar to Chipotle, where customers can customize bowls, tacos, burritos, or salads, made-to-order, cafeteria style. You start with a base, either cilantro lime rice or brown rice, then top it with your choice of protein (chicken, beef steak, goat, paneer, or plant-based chicken). Both the goat and chicken options are halal, meaning they’re permissible or kosher to Muslim diners.
Each order can be customized with additional toppings, such as Indian curry, black beans, jalapenos, lettuce, fajita peppers, cheese, pico de gallo, mango salsa, jalapeno, cabbage, lettuce, and sour cream, which can be added to any order. Other items on the menu include biryani, a mixed rice dish, Indian snack foods, pizza, and a halal version of chicken wings.
