Franchise owners and cousins Jason Malih and Elias Ishak plan to open a new 2250 square-foot Jacksonville Beach location at 1300 Beach Boulevard in early Summer 2023 and are currently waiting on building permits. Malih tells What Now Jacksonville that the new 1,812 square-foot Town Center site at 4853 Big Island Drive was supposed to open by now, but now it’s looking like Fall 2023, possibly late summer. Malih says he hopes to open six to seven locations in the area once these two are running smoothly.
“After tasting their food and experiencing their Miami locations, we knew we had to bring this concept to our area. We’re beyond excited to be the first franchisees to open a Talkin’ Tacos in Jacksonville,” Malih said in a press release. “There’s a huge void for a unique Mexican restaurant that infuses the Miami nightlife into their incredible food, drinks, and overall vibe. There’s nothing like them in the area, and we’re ready to offer our innovative twists on Mexican food to new fans!”
Talkin’ Tacos started as a food truck during the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020. As the brand and food truck’s popularity quickly grew, the company into a brick-and-mortar space in Miramar in 2021, eventually opening locations in Wynwood and Coral Springs. When the new restaurant opens, customers can expect hand-painted murals, neon signs, and arcade games, providing an upbeat yet laid-back vibe. Technology features include self-serve kiosks where guests can place their orders efficiently.
