The company’s newest location will move into the former home of Xcel Performance in the Holiday Plaza Shopping Mall, according to Jacksonville Public Records. Franchise owner Pete Adams tells What Now Jacksonville the new location is expected to complete construction towards the end of the month. Once that is complete, he will open the following city inspections. This will be the company’s first location in Florida, with another location coming soon to Sandusky, OH, and Westland, MI.
Currently, Pizza Cat can be found in Toledo, OH, Detroit, MI, and Madison Heights, MI. The company was founded in 2017 by Matt Wojtowicz, who has a mission to “keep pizza weird.” When the new Jacksonville Beach location opens, customers can expect more than 30 styles of pizza, including a Flaming Hot Cheetos pizza, and a best-seller called The “Fetaterranean,” topped with garlic parmesan sauce, chicken, Mediterranean herbs, feta, and pizza cheese and kalamata and green olives. The options are almost limitless at Pizza Cat, where customers can create their own pizza with unique toppings such as brisket, corned beef, and Soyrizo.
“Pizza Cat was created to embrace unique, wacky, fun, colorful, local, and of course his totally weird qualities,” according to the company’s website. “In 2017, our founder said, why wait for someone else to embrace a wonderfully wacky diverse pizza menu? Why not take the leap and embrace it myself? That’s exactly what we did. Because weird is an asset. Your ‘weird’ is my local. My weird is your Limited Time Offer. Our collective weird can now be enjoyed by all. With Pizza Cat, you get full freedom of choice in your weird taste and the confidence to order it any time.”
