The company’s newest location will move into the former home of Tech Genies in the St. Johns Town Center. Franchise owner Richard Hardman tells What Now Jacksonville he expects to open this location in July 2023. This is one of three locations from the franchise owner, but he couldn’t specify which other area he has his eyes on. Although Playa Bowls has 12 locations in Florida, this will be the first time it opens in Jacksonville. The company also has new locations coming to Miami, Stuart, and Wesley Chapel.

Playa Bowls is the nation’s leading superfruit bowl shop that serves an extensive and unique menu of over 40 items. Some items on this healthy menu include the bright flavors of acai, pitaya, green and coconut bowls, juices, smoothies, and oatmeal. The rapidly growing franchise has received numerous accolades and has already expanded to more than 165 stores nationwide in 20 states, with at least 13 more locations in the works. This massive expansion is partly due to the company recently appointing Darlene Schoeneberg as Vice President of Operations.

“I’m excited to help prepare Playa Bowls for the next level of growth by building best-in-class systems and teams along with strong operational foundations,” Schoeneberg said in a press release at the time of her hiring. “I’ve worked side by side with franchisees throughout my career and look forward to bringing that same hands-on approach to Playa Bowls.”
