Owner Morteshia “Tee” Plummer tells What Now Jacksonville that Island Breeze is currently in their final stages of permitting the cafe and will introduce a taste of the islands soon. The restaurant recently took to social media to share a preview of a mural in progress in their new location featuring a majestic lion and Jamaican flags.

Guests can expect an island-inspired menu with options from the sea like crab legs and signature dishes like Oysters Delight (steamed oysters), and Breezy Shrimp which Plummer assures are to die for! Taking from her husband’s island heritage, Island Breeze Cafe will offer a rotating menu of daily soup specials plus classic Jamaican dishes like curry shrimp, curry goat, ox tails, red snapper, brown stew chicken, and wings with their unique signature seasoning.

Island Breeze is in the process of acquiring an alcoholic beverage license to offer happy hour specials in the future but will maintain a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere, with Caribbean vibes and easy going music to enjoy.

Island Breeze Cafe is expected to open by mid-February 2023, dependent on final city inspections. For now, follow Island Breeze Caribbean Cafe on Instagram to stay connected.
