The company’s new site will move into the City Market Place shopping center, according to a recent plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Owner Karen Green opened the company’s original location in Flagler Beach at 909 N. Ocean Shore Boulevard in 2021, offering quality Jamaican cuisine and excellent customer service. There is no exact opening date for the new location, but it will likely open in a month or two.
When it opens, customers can expect various authentic Jamaican menu options. A handful of items are prepared ahead of time, while most are made-to-order. Some of the restaurant’s favorites include jerk chicken, spicy jerk pork, escovitch fish, oxtail, fried chicken, Jamaican beef patties, and curry shrimp. Island Flavaz Restaurant also serves a popular drink called Jamaican Sourle.
While the exact timeline for this restaurant is unclear, the owners announced in October 2022 that the company would be relocating to this location following Hurricane Ian. Shortly after announcing the relocation the company’s social media announced that it hopes to open after the new year, meaning 2023, but those plans have since been delayed. Now that Green has resubmitted a plan review application to the DBPR, it proves she is getting closer to finally opening in Palm Coast.
