Teal Submarine LLC, led by Mark Debiase and Andrew Maider, recently submitted plan reviews to open a new location at the corner site of the Shoppes at Rivertown. Maider tells What Now Jacksonville that the restaurant is still several months away from opening. The duo owns and operates several Jersey Mike’s, opening their tenth Jacksonville location in 2019. Most recently, the two opened a new location in the Island Walk Shopping Plaza in Palm Coast at the beginning of the year.

Shoppes at RiverTown is a Publix-Owned Shopping Center in Saint Johns, featuring a UPS Store, Grand Nails, Rivertown Dental, and more. This new Jersey Mikes will significantly expand the company’s reach, with the next closest location in Shoppes at Bartram Park. With the new site, customers in the area will have a much easier time accessing the company’s delicious sandwiches and sides. There are over a dozen Jersey Mike’s subs in the Jacksonville area, reaching as far south as Anastasia Plaza in St. Augustine.

Today, Jersey Mike’s Subs has over 2,000 locations open and under development, overseen by CEO Peter Cancro. The restaurant has become one of Subway’s largest competitors, persuading customers to come to their side by offering authentic submarine sandwiches made with top-quality meats and cheeses on top of fresh-baked bread. The restaurant specializes in offering its sandwiches the ‘Mike’s Way’ with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, and spices.
