The company’s newest location will move into the former home of Choban Grill in a strip mall near Deerwood Village Shopping Mall, according to plan reviews submitted this month. Franchise owner Jian Chen tells What Now Jacksonville that while she cannot provide an exact opening date, she hopes to open this new restaurant next month if everything goes accordingly. Teriyaki Express has a handful of locations in Ohio, with a few sites in Delray Beach, Florida City, Margate, Orange Park, and more.

The new Teriyaki Express will sit between a Starbucks and the former home of Rockstar Salon, next to Tropical Cafe. With the amount of foot traffic from other nearby retailers, the restaurant should see no problem getting plenty of people in its doors. Teriyaki Express will add even more variety to the food options in the area, with One Night Taco Stand, Firehouse Subs, Sushi X, and Deerwood Bistro all in the same building. While customers will be excited about the new option, the restaurant will have to compete with other Asian-inspired eateries nearby, such as Tasty Pot, Quick Chinese Restaurant, and Panda Express.

“Teriyaki Express Japanese & Chinese Cuisine offers dynamic combinations of traditional and contemporary Japanese & Chinese cuisine,” according to the company’s website. “Our authentic Japanese food is made to order from the highest quality ingredients and will delight your tastebuds no matter which of our locations you choose to visit.”
