The trendy Florida-based coffee shop Foxtail Coffee Co. is set to open later this year in the San Marco shopping center at 2039 Hendricks Ave. It is unknown when the location will have a grand-opening, as it is still pending construction, however it is slated for an April 2023 opening, according to franchisee Ty Claggett.
“We can’t wait to open our doors!” Ty told What Now Jacksonville in an email.
Foxtail Coffee Co. was founded in 2016 in Winter Park, Florida by two friends, Alex Tchekmeian and Iain Yeakle, who decided to convert an old auto-body repair shop in their neighborhood into a roasting facility and cafe, according to their website.
The company prides itself on ethically-sourced materials and responsible practices. “Foxtail Coffee Co. is dedicated to responsibly sourcing some of the finest coffees from around the world. Our company upholds its ethical and quality standards by making sure these environmentally-friendly farms are paid fair wages, so they may continue to grow exceptional crops. Foxtail Coffee Co. provides a welcoming atmosphere that shifts the way we think of coffee-one cup at a time,” the Foxtail website states.
With a whopping 41 locations in the state, Foxtail Coffee Co. is a tried-and-true favorite of locals. They also operate one location out-of-state in Newna, Georgia.
The East San Marco shopping center location will become Foxtail’s 42nd location in Florida. It is expected to serve a small pastry menu including cookies, croissants, cinnamon rolls and banana bread.
