The landmark abruptly closed in November 2019, with promises to eventually reopen after a $7.5 million overhaul, including renovations, remodeling, and upgrades. While there was never an exact opening date, structural work on the project was underway in November 2022. Now it appears owner H & H Enterprises Inc, an affiliate of real estate developer Ash Properties, is getting closer to opening, recently announcing on Instagram that Trifecta Management Group is now hiring managers.

The massive project is set to be a complete renovation of the space, with owners expanding its footprint by about 6,200 square feet to accommodate a two-story restaurant with rooftop dining, according to a site plan included in the company’s project application to the city. The exact type of food served at this new restaurant is unknown, but there will likely be a variety of options to choose from. Most bowling alleys offer different American classics, but Beach Bowl has the opportunity to introduce a new concept in the space.

When the bowling alley abruptly closed more than four years ago, dozens of residents and local bowlers were sad and confused, with no answers regarding when the bowling alley would return. The iconic Jacksonville Beach landmark was open 60 years before its closure, offering a place for friends and family to go and enjoy each other’s company while having some friendly competition. The only other nearby bowling alleys besides the Beach Bowl are Bowlero Southside and Pinz Bowling Center.
