After closing its brick-and-mortar, owner Yanelis Huet applied for a Mobile Food Dispensing Vehicle through the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. While Huet applied for this in mid-August, the request has yet to be approved. If approved, the company will take its operations to the streets of Jacksonville, offering delicious authentic Cuban cuisine. The company’s restaurant accepted reservations, provided catering, and offered online ordering and delivery options.

At the restaurant, customers were welcomed by a vibrant interior with Cuban artwork and decor, transporting them to the streets of Havana. Before closing, Jax Fito’s offered plenty of Cuban classics, such as empanadas, lechon asado, supreme fries, and, of course, a Cuban sandwich with fries. The new mobile vehicle will likely feature a stripped-down menu full of customer’s favorites. Huet hopes to get the food truck rolling by the end of the year.

“At Jax Fito’s, we prioritize creating an inviting atmosphere that reflects the warmth and hospitality of Cuba,” according to the company’s website. “Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of Cuba at Jax Fito’s Cuban Restaurant. Come join us for an unforgettable culinary journey that will leave you longing for more. Our friendly staff is dedicated to providing exceptional service, ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of memorable.”
