V Steakhouse, V Pizza, and Sidecar Jax Lounge are all getting ready to open in The Palms at Gate Parkway in Deerwood, located at 7510 Gate Parkway.
Owner Paul Scott, David Villmow, Kris Williams, and Jonathan Mark Turner are getting ready to open the company’s first steak concept alongside another V Pizza and Sidecar Jax sitting in between them, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. All three concepts are expected to open in June or July next year. It’s the first steak concept for Jacksonville-based V Pizza, which opened in San Marco nine years ago. The owners are planning more in other areas where V Pizza has five or more locations.
When the new three-part concept opens next summer, there will be separate entrances for V Steakhouse, V Pizza, and Sidecar, with an interior connection between V Pizza and Sidecar Jax. While each restaurant will have a dining room and patio seating, V Pizza will have an open kitchen, while V Steakhouse will have an exhibition kitchen, dining room, wine room, private dining room, and bar, according to permit filings. While documentation has V Steakhouse listed as the business’s name, Scott tells JDR he intends to change the concept’s name and hopes to have an announcement early next year.
This isn’t the first time Scott has tried to open V Steakhouse. The owner previously attempted to launch the restaurant in the former home of Lulu’s Waterfront Grille in Ponte Vedra Beach, but it did not work out. Now he’s getting ready to try again and recently posted a “coming soon” sign for V Pizza at the site while the city reviews a permit application. The site will be at northwest Gate Parkway and Burnt Mill Road, southwest of Interstate 95 and Butler Boulevard. The concept should see plenty of business from the nearby St. Johns Town Center.
