The company’s newest location will move into the former home of M Shack, whose 10-year lease will expire on March 1, 2024, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Simon Property Group offered the company another lease of five years, but the company stated they only sign 10-year leases. Shake Shack will now move into its place sometime next year. Once M Shack vacates the building, the company will renovate the 3,136-square-foot space, costing about $1.3 million.

As for M Shack, the company will continue to operate at the Town Center site until next year, as well as the other location in Nocatee at 641 Crosswater Parkway. While this is the third M Shack to close in four years, including the original location in the Beaches Town Center and one near Five Points, owners have big plans for the remaining Nocatee site, saying it “has a long life ahead.” The company plans to renovate the Nocatee location with a reinvented menu and an expanded ice cream /shake program, launching by the end of April 2024.

“We had a wonderful run at the mall and really enjoyed being a part of that community. The M Shack saw great success over the years, and we are left with many terrific memories,” Matthew Medure, founder and CEO of Jacksonville-based Medure Brothers Culinary Concepts, tells JDR. “As we begin the closing process, all employees will be given the opportunity to apply/transfer to any of our other Medure Brothers Restaurants.”
