This will be the first time founder and CEO Salvatore “Soccer Sam” Fantauzzo expands his business beyond New York. Over the past 40 years, Fantauzzo has opened over 25 locations and is now getting ready to enter a new market. Fairport native and physician Ferdinand Formoso, who has lived in Florida for 16 years, will own and operate this location. The newest location is expected to open on July 5, 2023, which is Salvatore’s 45th-anniversary date. Formoso says this will be the first of many out-of-state locations in Jacksonville.

“I am honored beyond words that Sam and his team have accepted me into the Salvatore family,” Formoso said on the company’s blog. “I’m so excited to bring their amazing food to Florida to show the folks here what a real pizza is supposed to taste like!”

When this new location opens, customers can expect a variety of food options from the restaurant’s famous full menu, which includes appetizers, pizza, burgers, fish, and other Italian pasta dishes. Salvatore’s also offers $10 daily specials, delivery, and catering. This will be an excellent opportunity for Dr. Formoso, who is currently the President-elect of the Duval County Medical Society.

“Bringing Salvatore’s to Jacksonville is exciting for many reasons; not only are we bringing the best quality pizza to Jacksonville, but we are also able to provide the community with a brand they can trust and stand behind,” said Ryan Mickens, Operations Manager for Team Formoso. “I am excited to watch Salvatore’s grow in Florida as it has in New York.”
