The company is working on a new 2,691-square-foot, 50-seat restaurant with a drive-thru and patio seating between Gator’s Dockside and Bank of America, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. JEA is reviewing a service availability request. This will be the first time the Louisiana-based company has expanded into the area, with the next closest location being Gainesville. The company has more than 750 restaurants in more than 35 states, with a total of 14 in Florida.

While there are over a dozen Raising Cane’s in Florida, it’s a relatively new state for the company, entering into the new market in November 2022 with a location in Homestead, followed by a second outpost in Miami Beach earlier this year. There is no exact timeline for this new opening, but it is just one of many new locations the company plans to work on. Earlier this year, a press release from the company announced the restaurant plans to open 100 Restaurants across several new markets in 2023.

The fast-growing company has been transparent regarding its expansion plans, listing all upcoming openings on the website. Up next, Raising Cane’s plans to open new locations in Logan, UT, and Kenosha, WI, to close out the year. Next month the company plans to open new sites in Orlando, Burlington, NJ; Whittier, CA; Algonquin, IL; and Kokomo, IN. The company started when founder Todd Graves submitted a business plan in college and didn’t receive great feedback.
