Stuart Cohen, CEO of Metro Franchising Commissary LLC, was approved for the new construction of a Dunkin’ Donuts at the beginning of the month, according to the plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Professional & Business Regulation. This will be a new, stand-alone building near the Windsor Common Shopping Center. There is not an exact timeline for this new Dunkin’, but considering this is new construction, it will likely open sometime next year.

This will be an excellent spot for the company’s Florida expansion, considering it will sit in an area without a Dunkin’ chain for at least ten minutes in any direction. There are five other locations surrounding this upcoming site, but they are all closer to larger communities. The new coffee shop will only have to compete with Starbucks. On top of the limited competition, Metro Franchising should have no problem getting new customers in its doors with the easy accessibility of being right off of State Road 202 and being right down the street from the University of North Florida.

While fans of the brand may have to wait a few months before this new location opens, customers can enjoy its coffee and snacks from any one of its existing sites throughout Northeast Florida and beyond. The company currently offers its fall menu, which includes a pumpkin spice signature latte, nutty pumpkin coffee, and options from the pumpkin bakery line-up, such as their maple sugar bacon breakfast sandwich. These are limited-time offerings, so get them before they’re gone.
