Franchise owner Solomon Jones tells What Now Jacksonville he recently finished the letter of intent for his second Jon Smith Subs, coming to the Sawgrass Village Shopping Center. The progress on the second location comes on the heels of Jones opening his first location at 4765 Hodges Boulevard, which opened this week. Now, Jones is continuing to expand the home of “The Steak Bomb” throughout Jacksonville. This is the second of at least four more locations for the franchise owner, with the new Ponte Vedra Beach location set to open early next year.

“Hopefully, it will be under development very, very soon, late this summer, and open up probably around the first quarter of 2024,” Jones tells the Florida Times-Union. “The goal would be probably over the next two to three years, open up two more. Once I feel comfortable with these particular two.”

While Jones is in no rush to expand, he is looking for other potential locations. Specifically, he is searching within South Jacksonville, Riverside, and Mandarin. Jon Smith Subs currently has 11 locations open or coming soon. The West Palm Beach-based sandwich shop offers delicious subs made-to-order, and other sides, such as French fries. Jon Smith Subs specializes in freshness, preparing all the ingredients for every sub on-site daily. The new Jacksonville locations are part of a national expansion for the company.
