This will be the first of at least four new locations coming to the area under franchise owner Solomon Jones, according to the Florida-Times Union. The first Jacksonville Jon Smith Subs will be in the Windsor Commons shopping center. Jones has mentioned he is looking at potential locations in South Jacksonville for its growth and development and Riverside and Mandarin for its centralization. While the other three sites have yet to be solidified, Jones hopes to open these restaurants in the Spring or Summer of 2023.

“I think the key is that it’s going to bring an opportunity of extreme variety and a very pro-casual family environment,” Jones told the Florida Times-Union regarding competition from hometown mainstays Firehouse Subs and Larry’s Giant Subs.

Jon Smith Subs is no stranger to the Florida market. In fact, out of the company’s 26 restaurants open or coming soon in a dozen states, Florida currently has the most, with 10 locations, according to the company’s website. Seven of those locations are in South Florida. Jones, who has an extensive financial and food industry background, will help complete the coverage of Florida by opening these new locations in Northeast Florida.

When these new Job Smith Subs open later this year, customers can expect signature and classic deli subs to be served on bread baked in-house daily. The signature Steak Bomb and Chicken Bomb hot subs are, without a doubt, the most popular menu items. All sandwiches are served with a choice of freshly chopped veggies and either chips or french fries. While the sandwiches are the stars of the restaurant, Jones couldn’t help but recognize the french fries when deciding to invest in this business.

“They are outstanding, great-tasting fries, so they really tie the concept together,” Jones tells the publication.
