Aptly named “The Exchange,” the shopping center will flow around a Publix grocery store and is currently under construction, according to Florida-Times Union. Recently, the Los Angeles-based Dolly Llama Waffle Master announced its placeholder in the community, creating a stir with its colorful sweet treats.

And it looks like eTown isn’t going to be the only place getting this buzzy new dessert.

New franchise owner Stacy Searcy said eTown’s location will open in June of 2023, and as soon as March of 2023, The Fountains behind Culver’s on 210 will be getting a brand-new shop as well.

The Dolly Llama Waffle Master specializes in waffles, ice cream, and milkshakes. According to its website, its waffles range from European style to Hong Kong Bubble Waffles, and its creations are often topped with anything from Nutella to Fruit Loops. Husband and wife owners Stacy and Anthony Searcy will bring the waffle desserts to the Jacksonville area after falling in love with the concept in California.

“I have always wanted to have a business of my own, so my husband said, ‘Stop talking about it and go find your dream,'” Stacy said in an interview with What Now Jacksonville. “After sitting in one location for about an hour, we knew we had to get involved. The number of individuals and families that walked in with smiles on their faces and walked out with very happy ice cream faces made up our minds for us.”

Stacy believed in The Dolly Llama so much that she decided to open two locations, one in St. Johns and the other in Jacksonville. According to Restaurant News, this will be the second and third location to open in the area, with the first Dolly Llama in Florida debuting in Ponte Vedra this past September.

Regarding what Stacy said she recommends: the bubble waffles are a can’t miss as well as the “Ultimate Cookie Monster” creation and “Ube” ice cream. She says it’s not just the treats that have gathered the buzz around The Dolly Llama Waffle Master, however. It’s the shop itself that makes people want to come back.

“It’s not just a dessert shop, Stacy said. “It’s a destination.”

The locations will be: 170 Fountains Way in St Johns and 11025 Etown Parkway, Suite 203 in Jacksonville.
