Donato’s Pizza is continuing its Jacksonville expansion, with a new location coming to College Park at 937 University Blvd. N.
The company’s third location in Northeast Florida was recently announced as the newest tenant coming to the redeveloped Town & Country Shopping Center, along with Conie’s Ice Cream next door, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. The exact opening date is unknown, but several businesses within the center continue to make progress in opening, including Winn-Dixie, which is expected to open in early 2024. Franchise owner Courtney Sherman confirms with What Now Jacksonville this location will be owned by Buckeye Pizza LLC, a local franchise group led by her and her husband, Justin Sherman.
The Shermans opened the first Donatos location in Northeast Florida three years ago in Jacksonville Beach at 1500 Beach Blvd. The couple followed this with a second location in Jacksonville at 9735 Old St. Augustine Road at Mission Square Shopping Center in Mandarin. With this new College Park location, the franchise owners continue to bring the Ohio-based company to the Jacksonville area, offering a variety of award-winning thin, crispy crust pizza, dubbed Edge to Edge pizza, along with other favorites such as wings and sandwiches. Earlier this year, The International Franchise Association named Justin Sherman the 2023 Franchisee of the Year.
“It feels amazing that people have noticed the time and effort I have put into building my business,” Justin said earlier this year after winning the award. “I believe if you have a product that you genuinely enjoy in your own personal life, and you want to be your own boss, franchising is a wonderful way to combine those passions. It’s great to get the recognition this year, but I couldn’t have done it alone. You have to realize it still requires a lot of effort to get things started, but the results have definitely been rewarding.”
