The new restaurant is the latest from the founders of Jacksonville’s Cinco De Mayo restaurants, Rodolfo and Maria Torres-Leon, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. This will be the fifth restaurant concept in the space, known as Park & King, since Carter’s Pharmacy closed in 2009. Now the husband-wife duo is preparing to open its sixth restaurant, featuring a vibrant ambiance in a picturesque location, according to the company’s website. Don Eduardo Cocina Mexicana is expected to open in Fall 2023.

The new 5,000-square-foot restaurant will join several other businesses at the northwest corner of King and Park Streets, as well as one vacant space. Don Eduardo Cocina Mexicana will replace One Bar & Lounge, which opened in 2020 and closed in April 2023, to move elsewhere. When the new restaurant opens later this year, customers can expect authentic Mexican cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails, much like the couple’s five Cinco de Mayo locations.

“Our passion is to bring the love of family, friends, and good times to your dining experience through the recipes and traditions brought with our family from Jalisco, Mexico,” according to Cinco de Mayo’s website. “Perfected over time, it is our pleasure to provide authentic meals, lovingly created, using the freshest produce and ingredients for your dining pleasure.”
