Owner Christa Rummel will open this new restaurant in the former home of Country Kitchen, according to a recent plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Rummel tells What Now Jacksonville that she is waiting on approval of licenses and inspections but hopes to open this new restaurant by the end of the month. Customers can expect an eclectic menu full of international flavors. There will be a staple menu with favorites and a seasonal menu.

Rummel is no newcomer to the restaurant industry, possessing over 20 years in the service while also studying nutrition. She hopes this new restaurant will be a new option for residents of Newberry and will give customers something fun and new to the area. The new local eatery will have a simplistic interior with wooden tables and chairs that perfectly complement the brick wall that takes over the entire wall across from the bar.

When Capricious opens later this month, possibly early next month, it will sit in a busy area of Downtown Newberry. Rummel should have no problems getting customers in its doors with the various other businesses in the area, such as the Newberry Library and Municipal Building, only a block away. The new restaurant will sit next to Main Street Sweets and Eats.
