The new location is the first of many new-to-market concepts coming to the Florida Baptist Convention building in the Urban Core, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Designs for the 26,000-square-foot property show space for restaurants, retail suites, and studio and one-bedroom apartments on the upper floors. More tenants are expected to be announced in the future. Co-op has nine other locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, with a new site coming to Las Vegas.
“The CO-OP Frosé & Eatery is coming to Downtown Jacksonville and will be incorporated into JWB’s 17M adaptive reuse project at 218 Church,” according to Olivia Steinemann, an associate of The Urban Division of Colliers North Florida, who announced on LinkedIn. “This all-day frosé bar originated in Sullivans Island, SC, and quickly gained a celebrity following due to its tasty sandwiches, hundreds of flavors of FROSÉ, and finally, its comedic-party vibe. The 2,000-square-feet space will include nearly 1,500-square-feet of vibrant patio space, situated next to the Federal Reserve Building and Sweet Pete’s.”
There is no exact opening date for The Co-op Frosé & Eatery, but customers can expect more than 50 rotating flavors, with at least four at a time at each location, making flights available like at a winery or brewery. On top of the frozen alcoholic drinks, The Co-op Frosé & Eatery also offers a handful of breakfast options, as well as salads and sandwiches, such as California turkey, cowboy chicken, caprese panini, Cubano, The Masters, The Italian, tuna salad, and more.
This is part of a proposed $18.55 million redevelopment of the building by Jacksonville-based JWB Real Estate Capital, which is also working on redeveloping the historic Federal Reserve Building Downtown at 424 N. Hogan Street. Developers recently announced the property is fully leased, but tenants have yet to be announced due to a nondisclosure agreement.
