RedRobin Enterprises LLC recently obtained permits for the new construction of a 664-square-foot location, costing $650,000, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. The new Scooter’s Coffee will move into an empty lot across the street from the Northpoint Village Shopping Center. RedRobin Enterprises is led by Scooter’s franchisees Dorie and Barry Robinson with Jennifer and Timothy Redcloud. Barry Robinson tells What Now Jacksonville that the group expects to open this location in late August or early September 2023.

Scooter’s Coffee has sites across Florida, but only one in the Jacksonville area in Orange Park at 151 Park Ave. The company plans to open several locations in the area under separate franchise owners, including a new 664-square-foot location at 13753 Beach Boulevard. In January 2022, the Nebraska-based Scooter’s Coffee said its goal was to open 1,000 stores by 2024, and “Northeast Florida is an essential part of that strategy,” according to JDR. At the time, the company said it had 12 locations in development in the area.

The company began in 1998 under Don and Linda Eckles, who wanted to provide high-quality drinks and speed of service. All Scooter’s Coffee feature a drive-thru to expedite mobile orders and provide drivers with a quick coffee option. Jacksonville has seen a large influx of drive-thru concepts coming to the area, with new locations of Dutch Bros Coffee, Ellianos, 7Brew Coffee, Starbucks, and Dunkin’ Donuts coming to the area soon. Scooter’s Coffee will have to rely on its signature, Caramelicious, to win over in this drive-thru coffee concept war.
