Chick-fil-A is officially working on two new locations in the Jacksonville area, including sites in Mandarin and East Arlington. The city issued a permit late last month for a new Mandarin location at 11709 San Jose Boulevard, costing about $800,000, to build a restaurant with a drive-thru. Chick-fil-A is also working on opening a drive-thru-only location in East Arlington at 11909 Atlantic Boulevard in the Atlantic North Shopping Center for the same cost, according to Jacksonville Daily Record.

In late October, reports were that the company was opening a new location in Nocatee, sitting east of Crosswater Parkway and south of Nocatee Parkway, north of 355 Pine Lake Drive, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. While the JEA reviewed a service availability request for Chick-fil-A in Nocatee, the developer pointed out that a deal still needed to be done, and it’s not certain the company would be opening a location in that area. There is no exact opening date for the two upcoming Chick-fil-A locations.

“A JEA Service Availability request is used to determine the utility services that are available for a specific property and is often done during site evaluation,” The PARC Group CEO Richard Ray told JDR. “A significant number of requests for JEA availability never result in a completed project since the request itself is independent of a completed business transaction. Based on the JEA request by Chick-Fil-A’s civil engineer, reporting that a Chick-Fil-A is ‘coming to Nocatee’ is inaccurate at best and does nothing but set up the residents for a large disappointment if a restaurant is not built in Nocatee.”
