The new sweet treat shop is set to move into the former home of Bambino Scoops, which was expected to reopen later this summer, according to Yelp. Instead, Chad Abernathy, the owner of mobile caterer Nitrogen Creamery, has submitted a plan review application to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation to open in the Cobblestone Crossing Shopping Center later this year. Abernathy tells What Now San Diego that he hopes to be open by May 1st, hopefully sooner.

When Cone and Cream opens later this year, customers can expect a variety of ice cream flavors as well as other snacks and treats often found at dessert shops. Nitrogen Creamery, on the other hand, was Jacksonville’s first and only Liquid Nitrogen Ice cream truck, offering ice cream, milkshakes, fruit smoothies, dragon puffs, and more. Abernathy tells What Now Jacksonville that this location will not use a nitrogen concept, which uses -320 degrees liquid nitrogen.

“We plan on focusing more on our freshly made scooped Ice cream, sorbets, and Italian ice,” Abernathy tells What Now Jacksonville in an email. “As well as milkshakes and Ice cream cookie sandwiches. We also will be rebranding our Nitrogen Creamery scoop van to the new Cone and Cream concept. It’s currently serving all over Duval and St Johns counties.”

This will be a perfect location for the company’s debut, considering the foot traffic from other surrounding businesses and residential housing. Other tenants within the Public-anchored shopping center include Subway, Goodwill, Turner Ace Hardware Monument, Sunrise Early Learning Academy, and more. While Cone and Cream will move into the former home of an ice cream shop, the company will have to compete with Baskin-Robbins on the other side of Cobblestone Parkway.
