The company’s third site is set to move behind the Midtown Lodge & Golden Ox Lounge, across from Walmart, according to a recent plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. There is no timeline for the new location, but considering the company is requesting a new construction permit, it will likely be a few months before Mi Veracruz Restaurant opens. The new site will offer authentic Mexican food, daily specials, and more.

While there are plenty of Mi Veracruz’s around the country, they are all locally and independently owned. The two in Jacksonville are the latest from co-owner Sandra Baez, who opened the first location at 3109 Spring Park Road over a decade ago, followed by a second location at 7001 Merril Road. Now, the ownership group is getting ready to expand once again.

There’s a chance Baez is relocating its original location to the new site, considering it is only five minutes and less than two miles from the Spring Park Road site. Regardless, the new location will be another achievement for the ownership team. On top of being a new Mexican restaurant in the area, becoming a go-to spot for anyone staying at the Midtown Lodge, it will see plenty of foot traffic from other nearby businesses, such as Village Bread Cafe and Twisted Martini Liquor 2.
