Co-owners Dori Blockberger-Alexanian and her husband, Roger Alexanian, are getting ready to open the restaurant’s second location early next month at The Fountains in St. Johns at 170 Fountains Way, Suite No. 7, four years after making its debut at 8380 Baymeadows Road, Suite No 8 in Jacksonville. This is just the beginning for Jax Fish Fry. The owners have found a potential site on Racetrack Road near Philips Highway for a third location, according to the Florida Times-Union.
Construction on the company’s third location could begin as early as next spring. If there are no hiccups, this site could open by the end of next summer or early fall. Another site is being looked into for Durbin Park’s second phase of development in Saint Johns or at eTown in Jacksonville. While construction timetables for those developments depend on many things, both eTown and Durbin Park locations are expected to open in 2025.
If opening three to four locations in the next two years wasn’t enough to establish itself as a popular seafood destination, Jax Fish Fry is planning to purchase a “transit van” and two mobile fryers in January to cater to private, community, and other social events. Whether from brick-and-mortar locations or one of the upcoming mobile vehicles, Jax Fish Fry will offer affordable and delicious seafood options, such as cod, lobster, and shrimp.
