Previously, What Now reported on the group’s massive acquisition from two existing franchise owners, including the possibility of demoliting a 3,171-square-foot Burger King to rebuild it as the company’s Garden Grill concept. It’s become a little clearer what is happening with the space. The group, led by CEO Randy Pianin, has been approved to remodel the existing Burger King to bring fresh new Burger King images to Jacksonville, according to a plan review application.

This isn’t the first time a massive parent company has obtained a handful of locations with plans to remodel for improvement. Earlier this year, Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the parent company of Burger King, announced it would acquire its largest U.S. franchisee, Carrols Restaurant Group, for $1 billion, according to Entrepreneur. This deal includes a $500 million investment to renovate more than 1,000 Carrols-owned Burger King locations.

Whether it’s Royal Restaurant Group or Restaurant Brands International, the massive acquisition proves the company is focused on refreshing the image of Burger King to get more customers in its doors. Customers can expect technological upgrades, kitchen remodeling, advertising, and digital enhancements. The move is a strategic part of Burger King’s “Reclaim the Flame” initiative, aimed at boosting sales and brand revitalization.
