Franchisee Matthew Karlton tells What Now Jacksonville he expects to open this location in April 2024. This will be the company’s first location in the area, with the next closest being in Middlesburg and Gainesville. Karlton says this is the only location he plans to open. While the exact location of this upcoming Zaxby’s is unknown, the company will have to compete with KFC to become the area’s favorite chicken spot. This will be a great location for the company, considering how many other fierce chicken competitors exist.

When the new Zaxby’s opens next spring, customers can expect the same delicious menu items found at every location, including chicken fingers & wings meals, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and more. Founder Zach McLeroy opened the first location in Statesboro and built an empire of more than 900 locations throughout the country, all offering the company’s signature Zax sauce. While this may appear to be another big chain restaurant coming to the area, Zaxby’s takes pride in helping the communities they serve.

“Our mission is to enrich lives one person at a time, so whether you’re part of the Zaxby’s family or the community we serve, we strive to make a positive impact and believe that even small actions can make a big difference,” according to the company’s website. “Whether it’s supporting afterschool programs, partnering with the American Red Cross to support blood donations and disaster relief, or donating meals to frontline workers, we’re working to give back, make a difference, and serve more than just good food.”
