The company, launched in 2013 and franchised in 2015, was co-founded by husband-and-wife duo Don and Evonne Varady. After decades of combined efforts in the corporate sector, franchisees Jerry Mosiello and his son Jer decided to hang up their hats in pursuit of something more worthwhile: answering Jacksonville’s growing call for improved access to affordable, quality health food. They opened the city’s first Clean Eatz in 2021, followed by the recent opening of a second location in St. Johns at 140 Little Cypress Drive.

The franchise team is now getting ready to double down on area locations. A representative from the company tells What Now Jacksonville that the two are already planning to open a third and fourth location. While the exact location of these two new sites has yet to be determined, it proves the Mosiellos knew how impactful a brand like this would be in their hometown. Clean Eatz is an award-winning health food brand that’s built a nationwide fan base through its efforts to put an end to America’s food desert by providing communities with affordable, accessible, and nutritious meal options.

“Our dine-in cafe menu includes burgers, wraps, flatbreads, Meltz, build-your-own bowls, smoothies, and more,” according to the company’s website. “We also provide a weekly meal plan service, with a new menu going live on the website every Tuesday. You simply place your online order, pick up your meals at Clean Eatz in Jacksonville, take them home, and then just heat and eat. Most meals are under 500 calories. In addition to our café menu and meal plans, healthy food options at Clean Eatz in Jacksonville include Grab ‘N’ Go meals, protein smoothies, healthy snacks, and catering for all occasions. By providing healthy food options in Jacksonville, as well as offering education and support, we hope to change livez in our community.”
