The company will move into the former home of Ovinte in the St. Johns Town Center, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Co-owner Sridhar Sannala and Koteswara Rao Putikam have decided not to renew their lease after purchasing the 5,010-square-foot restaurant for $2.4 million last month. The company expects to open the 5th Element Indian Restaurant sometime in January 2024. Panera Bread is working on taking over the space at 9485 Baymeadows Road.
5th Element Indian Restaurant has five other locations in Pompano Beach, Palm Coast, Sanford, Daytona Beach, and Delray Beach. The restaurant serves authentic Indian cuisine, including plenty of Indian bread, tandoor varieties, chicken dishes, lamb, goat, and more. The new location for 5th Element Indian Restaurant will be perfect for the company, considering there are no competitors in the area. The next closest Indian restaurant is APNA Restaurant.
“Restaurateur Sridhar Sannala, inspired to share his love for the food and culture of his native India, assembled a talented team to create a world-class restaurant that would re-define how Indian cuisine is presented on the international gastronomic stage,” according to the company’s website. “The team shares a vision of the future for Indian cuisine, an endeavor to improve the purest traditional and regional cuisines while simultaneously creating innovative, modern dishes and interpretations.
